Ring Topology

Smart power sharing between compatible DC chargers.

One charger's idle power is another's boost

Ring topology lets compatible Exicom DC chargers share available power as charging demand changes. Unused capacity can support the active charger, helping you make better use of your charging installation within the site's available power.

Available power, shared as demand changes

Physical link

Compatible chargers connect into a coordinated power-sharing system.

Shared load sensing

The system monitors charging demand and the site's configured power limit.

Dynamic boost

Available capacity from an idle charger can support the active charger.

Automatic rebalancing

Allocation adjusts as demand changes, while respecting the configured site limit.

Get more use from installed capacity

Lower Infrastructure Costs

Avoid unnecessary upstream grid upgrades by making better use of available power.

Higher Returns from Every Site

Maximize power utilization and charger performance to improve site economics.

Built for Emerging Charging Sites

Ideal for low-utilization locations where full-scale DC deployments don't yet make commercial sense.

Frequently asked questions

How does ring topology help even with limited grid capacity?

Slim 60 is designed for maximum commercial efficiency and flexibility. Its compact footprint makes it ideal for busy or space-constrained parking environments. The system does not require upstream infrastructure oversizing, which helps avoid unnecessary grid upgrades and additional approval processes. Through its ring topology, Slim 60 enables intelligent power sharing and improved asset utilization, resulting in a higher return on investment. It is particularly well suited for low-utilization sites, allowing operators to deploy cost-effectively today while remaining prepared for future growth.

Ring topology lets paired Slim chargers dynamically share load in real time, so even with limited grid capacity, power is redirected to active vehicles, maximizing utilization without exceeding what’s available.
What happens when only one EV is charging?

Slim 60 connects two chargers in a closed-loop configuration, enabling them to intelligently share available power. Each charger is built with 30 kW power modules. When two units are connected, power can be distributed in 30 kW increments between them. If one vehicle requires more power, modules can be dynamically reallocated from the paired unit. This modular architecture ensures efficient power distribution, optimized utilization, and greater operational flexibility at the site level.

The idle charger’s capacity is automatically redirected to the active one through Charger-to-Charger Boost Mode, letting a single EV draw combined power from both units for a faster charge.
Which chargers support ring topology?

Slim 60 is based on the globally recognized CCS-2 connector standard. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicles from leading manufacturers worldwide that use the CCS-2 charging interface.

Exicom’s Harmony Direct 2.0 and Slim chargers support ring topology.
How many chargers can be linked in a ring topology setup?

Exicom provides comprehensive support for Slim 60, including remote diagnostics via its RMS platform and a range of service packages from basic to premium site support. Support is available across India and internationally through authorized distributors, ensuring rapid issue resolution, minimized downtime, and consistently high uptime performance.

Currently, ring topology links two Slim chargers into one coordinated system. Support for larger charger clusters is on our roadmap.
