DC Fast Charging refers to high-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging that supplies Direct Current (DC) electricity directly to the vehicle’s battery, enabling significantly faster charging compared to standard AC chargers. This technology is crucial for enabling long-distance EV travel and for applications where charging time is critical, such as in commercial fleets and public charging stations.

How It Works

Unlike AC charging, which requires the EV’s onboard charger to convert power from AC to DC, DC fast chargers bypass this process and deliver DC power directly to the battery. This allows for much higher power transfer rates.
